RTC Tile Engravers specializes in engraving designs onto stone tiles. We have 30 years experience with designing and engraving onto natural stone and tile.

Use your imagination to incorporate these designs into backsplashes, bathrooms, mountain cabins or ocean front homes. Use the Oak leaf and Maple leaf designs on the floor of a porch or patio, or include the sea shell designs into a backsplash or floor design.

We have chosen a selection of designs from our Mountain series, Ocean series (sea shell designs) and Native American Indian series and will add more groups in the near future.

Although we can engrave onto most materials, we have chosen to use Rustic Colored Slate and Tumbled Bottocino Marble for this store. We use slate tile from www.SparkStone.com If you would like to use another slate from their range let us know. We can engrave onto the tile and size of you choice.

Slate is either gauged or ungauged. Gauged slate has gone through a grinding machine, usually to smooth out the under side, leaving the other (top) side alone. The machine finish guarantees a uniform thickness for ease in setting. Ungauged tiles vary in thickness.

Each tile is engraved to order. Using our state of the art machinery together with our knowledge of stone and hand carving methods each tile will be unique and its own work of art.

We supply slate in 4"x4", 6"x6" and 8"x8" sizes, which can be tumbled or gauged. The true elegance of slate is in its colors, from solid hues like black, red, green gray and purple to mottled mixed tones that resemble earthy abstract watercolors. Each tile will be unique. Lighting above and around the tile can give different effects, as the shadow of the engraving shows the design at its best.

Tumbled Bottocino marble tile comes in 4"x4" and 6"x6" sizes. It produces a flat finish with a slight grain to create an artistic "old world" appeal. Very effective on images such as sea shells. Please note that bottocino can vary in shade from one batch to another as with all natural stone. Lighting above and around the tile can give different effects, as the shadow of the engraving shows the design at its best.

Our sea shell designs give the effect of a fossil on slate and bottocino.

Even though we have selected only a few sizes of tile many other sizes and colors are available. We use SparkStone.com slate which can be used for any of our designs. Look at their comprehensive site in the natural stone section.
